The Walking Dead Companion Series: official casting director information

The hit AMC post-apocalyptic horror drama television series ‘The Walking Dead’ now has a companion series going into production this month, and casting for the series regulars is underway.

IMPORTANT NOTE: There has been widespread reporting across the world wide web and social media sites claiming that the ‘Untitled Walking Dead Spin-Off’ series will be shooting in Pennsylvania, and a bogus Craigslist as has been cited by many websites and media outlets. I have personally spoken today with the top casting directors in Pittsburgh and Philadelphia, and they have assured me that the show will not be shooting in Pennsylvania, and that the Craigslist ad being quoted is false and likely a hoax. If there is indeed shooting to take place in Pennsylvania, the casting offices that I spoke with either do not know about it, or they are not telling me that they know about it. However, sources do indicate that Philadelphia is involved at some level. The casting directors I spoke with are legit and the top industry people who cast in that state, and they would very much be in-the-know about such a high profile project. With that said, I do now have the OFFICIAL lead casting director submission details posted below. This information is CONFIRMED and VERIFIED with the production company and AMC.

The new series is being called ‘The Walking Dead Companion Series’ by the official casting directors, and also ‘Untitled Walking Dead Spin-Off’ by IMDb Pro. AMC officially announced in September, 2013 that there will be a spinoff series to ‘The Walking Dead’. The new series is being executive produced by Independent Spirit Awards winner Gale Anne Hurd, Writers Guild of America WGA Award nominee Robert Kirkman, Dave Erickson, and David Alpert. Kirkman and Dave Erickson are the head writers.
